Grey or Blue
05:50
|
|
||
One in the eye, for a hope of happiness,
Sick of the sight, reflecting back from the wall,
Open the blinds, no reason to get up and trudge into work,
When grey pervades everything.
Every night I drink to simulate having fun,
Drowning out the darkness and the rain best I can,
Visitors are speaking in the tongue of the land,
So why would inspiration disappear with the….
Grey grey grey grey grey grey
Grey or blue, which would you choose?
Sun in my eyes, nothing to complain about,
Clear blue sky, prescription not needed here,
Happiness found, compassion and spirit in this beautiful land,
Where everyone helps you out.
Every pizza that you eat will make your Top 10,
Sitting in the sun drinking wine with your friends,
Visitors are speaking in the tongue of their choice,
So why would inspiration disappear with the….
Grey grey grey grey grey grey
Grey or blue, which would you choose?
Life’s too short to make the most out of a situation that can only bring you down,
It’s really greener on the other side, you won’t cry, you won’t row, you won’t frown,
Grey or blue, which would you choose?

Protein for Everyone

|
|
||
Looks like you're in a fix,
Bills to pay, and debts to shift,
Rents going up, and a broken down car,
Jobs on the line, you'd be better by far...
Joining the queue
“Just one incision, a slither of spleen, World’s going crazy for cheaper protein”
World’s going crazy for cheaper protein
Protein for everyone.
Fully anesthetised,
Success in all clinical trials
Cells multiply in laboratory fish,
Ready to add to all manner of dishes,
Just tuck in!
“(As you’re) pumped full of flavour, and squeezed into tubes, ready to be added to all manner of foods”
Pumped full of flavour and squeezed into tubes.
Protein for everyone

National Grid

Travelling by National Grid,
Pulsing through, each wire in waves,
Transmitting in the hope of finding ways to change, past mistakes,
Haunting the hubs, the interface,
That lie behind, your social grace,
Transmissions from the past replay behind closed eyes,
Like Kodachrome slides, fading.
User 5-4638,
Has a lot upon her plate,
She reaches out for 2-32
For reassurance what to do
But he’s online with 44, trying to reach his highest score
Dock the dot, erase the eye
Flip the flop, into the sky,
Redact, redux the memory of being alive,
Binary blind,
Travelling back, through your timeline,
Share and stream some thoughts of mine.
We’re all just figments, bits of code, synchronised,
A constant feed #living

The Reason they're Alive
04:16
|
|
||
Waking up in springtime, all alone, it’s down to her, to build a new home,
For workers and the drones,
Building a cone, making paper from the trees,
Six walls, all of equal size in every room,
Until she’s done, the reason she’s alive.
Time to start a family of twelve new baby girls, so she’s not alone,
The house becomes a home,
Hardworking ladies who gather all the food,
Altruists who give their lives for greater good,
And never question, the reason they’re alive.
Summer’s nearly over, so the girls and star-crossed young men, pair off and fly,
They mate and then he can die,
She’ll find somewhere to hide, ‘till the days are warm and dry,
But the days are numbered for the family, back at home,
The works all been done, it’s why they were alive.

Split

|
|

She hears no confusion, taking in the view
Hallways lying empty where they once were new
She is still feeling sadness
Listening for him
Nothing has meaning but she
Carries on with her work
Vases full of tulips, daffodils have had their time in the sun
Tears run down her cheeks and in his mind
Does he still dream of her now?

Buon Natale

Buon Natale a voi e felice anno nuovo
Vedi tutti gli amici dietro e accanto a voi
Ti ricordi le persone che sono andati via
É l’avidita e indulgenza il motivo per natale?
Buon Natale a voi e felice anno nuovo
Vedo tutti gli amici vicini e dentro di me
Dovrei scomparire mentre tutto ha molto divertente?
Mi rende triste che il Natale non ha senso per me cosi
Buon natale a voi e felice anno nuovo

a. Seizure Laters (1.44)
Gammon
And so we reach the final song,
Don’t be afraid to sing along,
We hope we’ve brightened up your day,
Thank you for lending us your ears,
Why don’t you pour yourself a beer?
We’ve just got one more tune to play.
The needles in the final groove,
So please oblige, don’t disapprove,
If we now get carried away….

c. What on Earth am I moaning About? (1.59)
Gammon / Strawbridge
What on Earth am I talking about?
Life is good and there’s no reason to feel bad now,
Take a look back and see,
Your hard work, will pay off,
Pack the suitcase, flip the bird to the boss,
Wait a few months, see improvements, then,
We can play our music and have fun.
But now, bide our time for a while,
So please excuse me, if I moan at all,
Over and above all else, things are looking up 2014.

g. Ordinary Ways (2.42)
Gammon / Strawbridge
At No.3 in our street lives a man with no alibi,
He cleans his teeth, lets the whole world pass him by,
A celebration of the ordinary ways,
The mornings walk to work, and bin collection day,
Don’t forget tomatoes on your way back home dear…
And the seconds turn to hours, which stretch on into weeks,
No dancing like dogs, or scratching in heat,
We drink cheap red wine, and try to keep the house neat…
He stares out the window, forgets that anything’s possible
Waiting for papers to fall through the letterbox
h. Spleen Damage – a short story (2.54)
Strawbridge / Gammon
i. Eating Eric’s Pickles (1.15)
